Memo : Reminder Regarding Bringing Children to the Workplace

We would like to take this opportunity to remind all staff members of the company policy regarding bringing children to the workplace.


While we understand that emergencies may arise, and unforeseen circumstances may require you to bring your child to work, it is important to adhere to the guidelines outlined below:


General Policy: Bringing your child to work without a valid reason is against company policy. This includes situations where it may be distracting or potentially unsafe for the child.


Permission During Emergency Situations: In the case of emergency situations that necessitate bringing your child to work, you must first obtain permission from your Manager or Supervisor. This ensures that appropriate measures can be taken to accommodate the situation while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.


Safety and Distraction Concerns:

a. Factory and Production Premises: Safety concerns primarily relate to our factory and production premises where heavy vehicles are moving around and large machines are operating. The presence of children in these areas poses potential risks, and we must prioritise the safety of all staff members.


b. Administrative Departments: Distraction concerns are more relevant to the Admin departments where the risk of distraction by children is high. To maintain a focused work environment, we kindly request that you make suitable arrangements for childcare during working hours.


c. Mortuary Sites: Additionally, there are health risks and policy infringements at our mortuary sites if children of staff members are on these premises. Due to the sensitive nature of our work in these areas, it is imperative to adhere to the policy and prevent any potential risks.


It is crucial to uphold these guidelines to prevent a precedent that may encourage other staff members to bring their children to work without a valid reason. We trust that everyone will be considerate of their colleagues and the overall work environment.
