Reason for Memorandum: This memorandum is being issued to ensure that staff booked as Undertakers at a funeral, are aware of their responsibilities and accountability.


As the designated undertaker for a funeral, it is imperative that we maintain the highest standards of professionalism and adhere to the established protocols of our esteemed company. Your role is crucial in ensuring that everything runs smoothly, providing support to grieving families during their difficult times.


1. Funeral Accountability:

• As the assigned undertaker, you are accountable for the smooth execution of the funeral proceedings.

• Ensure that the schedule is strictly followed, and all tasks are completed efficiently and with the utmost sensitivity.


2. Adherence to Company Standards:

• Undertakers must ensure that all staff are dressed appropriately in the designated company uniform. This includes maintaining a clean and neat appearance throughout the entire event.

• The company's reputation is built on the trust of our clients. Uphold our high standards of service, professionalism, and compassion in all interactions.


3. Equipment Management:

• Thoroughly inspect and ensure that all equipment is in optimal working condition before the commencement of the funeral.

• Take responsibility for the proper handling and care of all equipment throughout the event.


4. Graveyard Protocol:

• After the service, make certain that everything used during the funeral, including floral arrangements and personal items, are collected from the graveyard.

• Leave the site in a condition that reflects our respect for the deceased and consideration for the environment.


5. Communication:

• Maintain clear and respectful communication with other staff members, clients, and attendees.

• Report any issues or deviations from the plan immediately to your supervisor/area manager.
