Grievance Procedure

The following document has been implemented to give employees of the Company a better understanding of the purpose of the Grievance Procedure.
The Company will not become involved in personal grievances between employees.
The Grievance Procedure has been implemented to address work related issues, and where the employee feels that his/her work performance is being undermined by the action of fellow colleagues or management.
The employee must also use the grievance procedure if he/she is of the opinion that the company is guilty of unfair labour practice.
Employee’s has the right to lodge a grievance against fellow colleagues who are transgressing Rules and Regulations of the company.
The grievance procedure cannot be used to negotiate increases or change of conditions of employment.
Employees must ensure that the facts of the grievance are accurate, as grievances are viewed in a serious light by the company. Allegations can lead to disciplinary action or dismissal of an employee. False accusations are also a transgression of Company Rules & Regulations.
The Company is committed to resolve grievances within 3 days of receipt of the grievance, however not later than 10 days.
Summary of steps to be taken:
Verbally report the grievance to immediate supervisor. Supervisor must resolve this grievance within 3 days.
If grievances have not been resolved satisfactorily, employee must submit written grievance, containing full particulars to the HR department.
HR department will investigate the grievance, and set up a meeting between all parties involved as soon as possible, but not later those 10 days after receipt of written grievance.
If company fails to resolve the grievance the employee has the right to refer the grievance to an external resolution mechanism, for example – the Union or CCMA.
