Employee of the Month Program

We are excited to introduce our Employee of the Month Program, starting this month (May). This program is here to recognise and reward staff members who go above and beyond in their work, show a positive attitude, and give excellent service.


The purpose of the Employee of the Month Program is to recognise permanent staff who:

● Do their job with dedication

● Treat customers and co-workers well

● Are always helpful, friendly, and reliable

● Perform their duties at a high standard

● Have a good work ethic and a positive attitude


HOW IT WORKS:

Each month, 15 finalists will be chosen - one from each of the following areas:


1. Louis Trichardt & Elim

2. Giyani Main, Giyani CBD & Malamulele

3. Soekmekaar

4. Plot

5. Coffin Factory

6. Simba (Bottling, Workshop, Tombstones, Production)

7. Tzaneen Head Office

8. NLA Head Office

9. TPH

10. TDL

11. Bush

12. ARC, Thulamahashe, Graskop, Hazyview

13. MTB & Mafefe

14. Burgersfort Head Office & CBD

15. Tzaneen Branch


NOMINATION PROCESS:

● The finalist’s details (not the nominees) must be submitted by the 25th of each month.

● Managers must complete the online finalist form using this link:

OR go to the Staff Portal under the “Forms” tab.


Area Managers must meet with their Branch Managers before the 25th to discuss and agree on one finalist.

Simba Management, Plot, Coffin Factory, and Head Offices must follow the same process.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

The finalist must be a permanent employee who stands out in the following areas:

Attitude & Commitment – Punctual, dedicated, dependable, and a good example to others.

Interpersonal Skills – Friendly, cooperative, and a team player who helps others.

Work Performance – Delivers high-quality work, meets deadlines, takes initiative, and needs little supervision.

Personal Traits – Professional, neat, honest, and hardworking.

FINALIST REWARDS:

● The 15 finalists will be announced at the end of each month.

● Each will receive R500, paid into their salary account.

● They will wear a special "Employee of the Month" sash for the whole month, and we’ll take a photo to celebrate this achievement.

● The finalists’ photos will also be published on the official Wisani Facebook page and Staff Portal.

The nominee must be a permanent employee.


Attitude and Commitment

• Dedicated to fulfilling job responsibilities

• Demonstrates good customer service skills (internal and external)

• Consistently dependable and is punctual in reporting to work

• Serves as a role model to others

• Goes above and beyond the requirements of the job


Interpersonal Skills

• Adheres to Wisani’s four Service Standards: Friendly & Helpful; Quick & Accurate; Honest and Reliable; Accountable & Supportive

• Displays a helpful, cooperative, and positive attitude towards superiors and co-workers

• Consistently friendly and available to others

• Uses effective listening skills

• Has a team player attitude

• Voluntarily assists co-workers in order to complete important activities


Work Performance

• Knowledgeable of Wisani/NLA’s policy and procedure

• High overall quality of performance

• Accurately completes work assignments on time

• Controls high stress situations tactfully and calmly

• Takes initiative

• Requires little supervision

• Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities

• Ability to train others and gladly willing to do so


Personal Traits

• Maintains an appropriate and neat personal appearance and dress

• Professional behaviour

• Conscientious, honest, hard-working

• Integrity, on and off the job
