Cell Phone Policy

The following policy regarding cell phones and the use of cell phones is introduced with immediate effect.

● The Company is a service and production intensive company and therefore it has become necessary to introduce a policy regarding the use of cell phones.

● The Company is not liable for any damages or losses of any cell phone.

● An employee who brings his/her cell phones to work does so at their own risk.

● Employees operating dangerous machinery and the use of cell phones during working hours can cause danger to other employees and damage to company property.

● Employees need to concentrate on their work and the use of cell phones causes a break in concentration interference and this can lead to accidents and mistakes especially for driver and machine operators.

● Staff working/interacting with clients are not allowed to use cell phones while clients are present as it is unprofessional and rude.

● No private phones calls and/or video calls are allowed during working hours (Refer to Memorandum M046/24 – Enforcement of cell phone usage during working hours)

● No charging of cell phones via computers/laptops due to virus protection is allowed.

● No charging of cell phones in an unsafe manner will not be allowed and will be dealt with as a serious matter.

● Employees are not allowed to obtain any illegal information, pictures, or recordings on their phones.

● Due to the cell phone allowance, phones must be utilized accordingly for communication purposes and all employees must be reachable during working hours, as well as have access to WhatsApp, e-mail and other compulsory applications like the Staff Portal, TMS etc.

● Not being able to use your cell phone with no good reason may result in further actions.

● Response time for communication will be the soonest working hours to follow message receipt, except for emergency reasons.

● An employee who transgresses these rules will face strict disciplinary actions.
